Bobcats Goaltender Commits to Clarkson University

LloydminsterJr. A Bobcats goaltender Tyler Briggs has accepted a scholarship to attend and play for Clarkson University for the 2013-2014 hockey season. The Clarkson University Golden Knights play in the Eastern College Athletic Conference Hockey League.

In his second full season with the team, Briggs posted a 20-2-5 record and four shutouts with a 1.98 GAA and a .914 save percentage in the 2011-2012 regular season. He set new Bobcats franchise records for Lowest GAA and Most Shutouts in a Single Season. The Sherwood Park native was also named the 2011-2012 AJHL Top Goaltender, the first goaltender in team history to win the award. In recognition of his outstanding season, the AJHL named the 19-year-old to the AJHL Reebok North Division All-League Team.

The Bobcats have now committed seven players from the team's 2011-2012 roster to post-secondary hockey programs, including four players to NCAA Div. I.
