After this weekend, children at École Sans Frontière will be one step closer to a playground.

Lloydminster's Motion Fitness is holding its grand opening Friday and Saturday. The gym is looking to promote itself and its programs holding samplings of all of its classes.

“If you’re a member or you’re not a member or you’ve never trained before or you just want to check out the place and see what you like, you’re welcome to come on in,” says head trainer and sales manager Jenna Noble. “We have a towel service, just ask at the front desk but have good clean indoor running shoes and some good workout gear.”

But the event will also benefit a good cause. The gym is raising money to get École Sans Frontière, which recently moved into the old Slim Thorpe centre, a playground.

“Presently, they have absolutely no equipment for the kids at recess or lunchtimes,” says Noble. “So I thought, we were going to pick a charity and help it out anyways so this is what I picked considering it has to do with fitness it kind of starts on the playground with kids, teaching them to take care of themselves.”

There will be a donation-based barbeque, a healthy cookbook for sale and for anyone who signs up for a membership at the opening, their first payment will be donated to the cause.
