Bobcats Acquire Two Forwards

The Lloydminster Junior A Bobcats have added two forwards to their front end.

A four team deal involving the Grande Prairie Storm, Drumheller Dragons, Kindersley Klippers, and the Bobcats has ended with
centre Braden Crone and right-winger Justin Lund in the Border City.

Crone comes to the Bobcats from the Grande Prairie Storm, where he had 3 goals in 8 games played so far in the 2012-13 season.

“Braden is a power forward that should add a physical offensive presence up front,” said head coach Ryan Parent. Crone is no stranger to Lloydminster; the city where he played midget hockey for the Baker Hughes Midget AAA Bobcats. “We’re happy to have another local product in our line-up".

A native of Langham, Saskatchewan, Lund spent the 2011-12 season with the Kindersley Klippers of the SJHL.

“Lund is a big body physical presence that should give us some depth on our forward lines. He has a solid work ethic and comes from good stock,” said Parent.

Both players are expected to be in the line-up Oct. 5 and Oct. 6 for home games against the Fort McMurray Oil Barons.

In exchange, the Bobcats sent the rights to defenceman Brad Deagle to Kindersley. Deagle played the 2011-12 season for the Seattle Thunderbirds of the WHL.
