The Lloydminster and District SPCA is hoping for a rosy outcome for this year's Friendship Flower Day. Last year it was a sell out, this year the local shelter is hoping for a repeat.

The idea behind the event is to spread friendship throughout the community by handing out roses, all while supporting the SPCA. Jennifer Anderson, the SPCA's Funding and Public Relations Coordinator says the organization could potentially bring in thousands of dollars from the blooming blitz.

She says despite expenses, they are looking at collecting as much as $10,000 if all 750 bouquets are sold at the price of $20 each.

Anderson also added they rely heavily on volunteers to help them prepare the flowers. She says they are still in need of people to get things ready before the launch date of Thursday, August 23rd. If you would like to help, call Jennifer at 780-214-7722.
