Candidates address burning issues at All-Candidate Forum
Lloydminster heard all 7 by-election candidates answer some burning questions at the All-Candidates forum put on by the Lloydminster Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday.
Council member hopefuls addressed many big issues facing the Double L, including their thoughts on a highway 16 bypass, affordable housing, crime rates, and public transit.
Lloydminster Chamber of Commerce President Michael Holden collated questions from the public at the event, and he says the event went well.
“We got a pretty good showing. There’s always room for more, obviously, but we’re fairly happy with the turn out.”
Candidates also answered a few questions from the public, which seemed to follow the trend of dealing with Lloydminster’s biggest issues. However, candidates had little to no time to prepare for this round of questions, putting them on the spot.
“That’s what’s going to happen in real life for the elected candidate. So I like to see questions from the floor that challenge [the candidates] and ones that make them think on their feet like they’ll have to should they be the elected person.”
